News Release: House in Second Day of Voter ID Testimony, Supporters Rally in Support of ID Legislation
AUSTIN - Lawmakers joined everyday Texans outside the State Capitol for a rally in support of voter ID, shortly before the House Committee on Elections began their second day of testimony on voter ID legislation.
Texans Rally in Support of Voter ID, SAFE Texas Interviews Public Witnesses
Today, hundreds of concerned Texans rallied outside the State Capitol showing their support for voter ID legislation before the House Committee on Elections met to hear public testimony on the issue. Senator Troy Fraser, Representatives Betty Brown, Patricia Harless, and Larry Taylor joined everyday Texans at the Rally in support of voter ID laws.
How Is Voter Fraud Proven?
In the last few weeks, some people throughout the state have had questions about proven voter impersonation at the polls and detection of this fraud. For example, in the Amarillo Globe-News, Mr. Mosteller of Canyon questions whether there is evidence of voter impersonation.
Call to action: House Elections Committee Sets Voter ID Date
SAFE Texas encourages Texans to wear red and attend both the Voter ID hearing and Rally that will be held TUESDAY, APRIL 7 at 11:30 A.M. to show lawmakers our support for secure and fair elections.
